Pak Suzuki Ends Wagon R Bookings in Pakistan: What’s Next?
Pak Suzuki has officially ceased accepting new bookings for the Wagon R hatchback, marking its departure from the Pakistani market. This move follows the earlier discontinuation of its top variant, and now all versions of the vehicle have been phased out.
Official Announcement
In a notice to its dealership network, Pak Suzuki confirmed that Wagon R bookings would be halted starting March 11, 2025. The company has advised dealers to update their sales teams and notify potential customers about this development.
A Popular Choice Comes to an End
First introduced in Pakistan in 2014, the Wagon R quickly gained traction, particularly among ride-hailing drivers, thanks to its fuel efficiency and spacious interior. The car debuted with three variants—VX, VXR, and VXL—but over time, the base model was dropped. In 2020, Pak Suzuki launched an AGS (Auto Gear Shift) version, offering automatic transmission and enhanced safety features.
What’s Next for Wagon R?
With the discontinuation of Wagon R, speculation is mounting about a potential successor. However, Pak Suzuki has clarified that there are no immediate plans for a new model, suggesting that a replacement may take two to three years to arrive.
The End of an Era
While the Wagon R was once a common sight on Pakistani roads, declining sales have contributed to its eventual phase-out. Its exit marks the end of a significant chapter for one of Pakistan’s most well-known hatchbacks. Now, all eyes are on Pak Suzuki’s next move—whether it will introduce a fresh alternative or shift focus to its existing lineup.
